Daystar University launched a new modern and well-equipped fitness facility in March 2021. The Jack and Camie Eugster Fitness Center was commissioned by the Daystar Co- founder Dr. Donald Smith and The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro at the Athi River Campus.
The commissioning of the gym was part of a joint launch of the redefined University’s Strategic Plan. The process of the strategic plan was a result of self-examination and engagement with stakeholders to challenge the status quo to accommodate the new way of life brought about the Covid-19 pandemic.
Impex TransAfrica, the exclusive Life Fitness exercise equipment distributor in East Africa were involved in the project. The team spearheaded the project by providing consultation, facility design, delivery and installation of the exercise equipment for the 180 square meters space.
Life Fitness equipment quality, durability and a wide product portfolio for general exercisers or athletes is mostly preferred by universities and institutions globally.
Adapting to the new way of life brought about by the pandemic will require lifestyle changes to foster healthy living in all areas of life whether at home, at work and will even extend to learning institutions.
